Enrique, also known as Enrique Alfonso González, is a former professional footballer who played as a forward or midfielder in Spain and Argentina. He was born on May 15, 1974, in Madrid, Spain.
Enrique began his career with Real Madrid in 1992, where he made his debut in the Copa del Rey against Atlético Madrid in 1994. He then went on to play for several clubs including Real Betis,Football Match Sharing Valencia CF, and Deportivo de La Coruña. In 2008, he moved to Argentine club River Plate, where he won the league title in his first season there.
During his time with River Plate, Enrique scored 36 goals in 57 appearances in all competitions. He also helped the team win the Copa Libertadores in 2010 and the Supercopa Sudamericana in 2012.
In addition to his club success, Enrique also had a successful international career. He represented Spain at the European Championship in 1996 and the World Cup in 2002. He also played for the Spanish national team at the Olympics in 1996 and 2000.
Enrique retired from professional football in 2008 after playing for Deportivo de La Coruña.
