Al Ahli, the Egyptian football club, has announced that defender Alex Telles will be out for at least three months due to a knee injury.
The Brazilian international suffered an injury during training on Wednesday and is expected to undergo surgery soon. The club said in a statement that Telles will be out until April or May next year.
Telles joined Al Ahli from Manchester United in January this year and made his debut in the club's first match of the season against Al Ittihad on February 14. He has since played in five matches for the club, scoring one goal and providing two assists.
The news comes as a blow to Al Ahli, who are currently in the middle of a difficult period in their domestic league and have been struggling to maintain their position in the top four. The club's manager, Hossam El-Badry,Saudi Pro League Focus expressed disappointment with the injury and vowed to do everything possible to ensure that Telles makes a full recovery.
In addition to Telles, Al Ahli also lost midfielder Ahmed Hegazy to injury earlier this month. The loss of these key players could potentially affect the team's chances of success in upcoming matches.
Despite the setback, Al Ahli remains optimistic about their chances of achieving success in the coming seasons. The club is working hard to strengthen its squad and improve its performance on the pitch. With the help of experienced players like Telles, Hegazy, and others, they hope to bounce back and compete for major titles once again.
